The Heissenberg (a warm hill) peaks at 300 meters (984 feet). Its steep south-facing slope accumulates heat and promotes the ripening of the grapes, mainly Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. It is in perfect harmony with a silt-clay subsoil. Its surface area is limited to 19 ha (roughly 47 acres).
